October 17th, 2017 - Progress at The Enclave!

Adjacent to our SOLD OUT The Palms at Corozal community, Berkovitz are now developing a 20-home subdivision, with luxury 2 bedroom- 2 bathroom homes known as "The Enclave at The Palms". Homes are available from just $99,000 USD (for the first two homes) with prices going up to $149,000 USD for a home on a larger lot.
We have two different designs available, with plenty of room to customize it as well to your needs. These are not manufactured homes, but built on site by Berkovitz' own contractors. June 5th, 2017 - Delayed updated from The Diplomat!

First of all, I know it's been way too long since this site got updated - we are actually in the process of rebuilding it entirely. We are making it less "heavy", easier to view on a mobile devide, and also with information on our new projects being a lot easier to access than it is today. The Diplomat is really starting to look great, and the second floor is now in progress. Our target is still to complete the entire building (minus some inside finishing work...) before the end of 2017, and our excellent contractors have been very capable of helping us move forward at a good pace. Below are some images from the progress, with most of the focus being on what you can see from the roof to the first floor - we still have one more floor to come on top of this one as well.

November 27th, 2016 - Walls coming up at The Diplomat!

Later this week, I will be visiting the site of The Diplomat myself, to check in on the progress. After some weather related delays, we fnally got the floors poured, and are now moving on to start erecting the walls. Responding to customer requests, we also have an exciting new floor plan - we have added another floor to the building, which means each unit will be a little bit larger (we now have one unit less per floor) so if you are looking to Buy Belize Real Estate  I would really advise you to give us a chance!

August 14th, 2016 - Making progress at The Diplomat!

I realize it's been a while since I updated this page with anything meaningful, so I figured now as everything is going "back to normal" after the summer,  I would post some updates from the site in Belize, and we will also soon have some interesting news to announce for those of you with an interest in Corozal. We just made a large purchase of land, namely the site adjacent to our The Palms of Corozal site, so for those of you looking to buy real estate in Belize, please keep an eye on what we're doing there, as we believe there will be some excellent opportunities.

As you may have seen, a huge hurricane just swept through Belize and hit Belize City really hard, but I'm happy to report that other than a small part of our fence, we sustained no damages other than losing a little bit of time - unfortunately the rest of the city sustained some damage, but the people of Belize City have come together to help each other out and rebuild, and no doubt things have already started to return to normal. It's important to note that these hurricanes are not the norm, and The Diplomat is built to the same hurricane standard as oceanfront properties in Florida.

March 27th, 2016 - Site Improvements at The Diplomat in Belize City!

I have just returned from a visit to the site of The Diplomat, on the Northern Highway just outside Belize City. Over the last few weeks, our workers have made significant progress, the piles are now starting to be set, and we will immediately move on to foundation work. The way we do our buildings is we construct the entire exterior of the structure, as well as some interior walls (takes about 6-9 months), and then bring in another set of contractors to finish off the inside, as well as the individual units. This also allows our purchasers to have the opportunity to "personalize" their residences and select certain finishes.

Units are available from $170.000 USD, and all residences will have ocean views. If you are looking to buy property in Belize, we would love for you to give us a look. After the government recently announced a huge investment into the northern highway, which will essentially move the commercial center of Belize City from Downtown to the area where we are, there has already been a huge surge in development in the area, and land is getting very scarce.

Real Estate in Belize is drawing a lot of interest from buyers from all over the world, and with the currency pegged to the USD, you are also able to eliminate another hurdle from the transaction.

September 15th, 2015 - Construction update
Construction at The Palms is moving along, and the house is slowly being completed. As with every project, it's hard to get it done in exactly the time you want, especially if you are used to working here in North America, but on the plus side the house is looking GREAT, and is so much more affordable than undertaking a similar project here, and also with less time lost to lengthy studies, approval processes etc. To see some larger images, please visit or email me on, so I can send you even more photos, as we just do not upload everything in order not to slow the site down too much.

June 23rd, 2015 - Recent article shows that QRP program may be great option when looking to Buy property in Belize.

Once again, our friends over at International Living have written a great article about Belize. This time, the subject of the story is a family that has recently moved to Belize from North America (the the program is open to any nationality) and have made significant tax savings by using the QRP program. The article also talks at length about how happy the family is having moved to Consejo (just up the road from us) and the ample opportunities that exist to socialize with both locals and expats, and the relaxed, friendly athmosphere of Corozal.

QRP means "Qualified Retired Person", and so long as you can show a minimum income (from any source) of $2.000 USD per month, you will be able to qualify for this great benefit, which may be something to look into when looking for an effecient way to Buy property in Belize, and move there permanently. You must be a minimum of 45 years old to be able to apply, there are however other paths to Belizean immigration as well, please feel free to get in touch with us if you have any questions about the process.

May 21st, 2015 - Want to Buy Property in Belize? Now access it non-stop from Houston!

According to an article posted by Travel Agent Central, a press conference was held last week in Houston, TX, where Southwest Airlines announced that non stop flights from Houston's Hobby Airport to Belize City will commence on October 16th this year. This will provide further options to visit for those looking to Buy property in Belize and live in the Houston area, as there are already flights from Houson's international airport on United Airlines.

May 6th, 2015 - Move to Belize, and escape the stress in your life says International Living        

In it's most recent edition ( International Living Magazine, a top rated lifestyle magazine for people looking to retire overseas, met with a retired former project manager from Calgary, Alberta, who decided to up sticks and escape his busy life, and Move to Belize.

The article goes on to say how happy he is that he was able to escape the frigid winters of Canada, enjoys not having to spend his days in traffic (I never knew Calgary had much of a traffic problem...) and how friendly the Belizeans have been as well as the ease of adjusting to a new life, greatly helped by everything being in English, including the title documents to his property.

The province of Corozal has also been granted (final details to be released) federal funds to make the area more appealing to tourists, which should further help boost the appeal to property investors - we will be posting information as it becomes available.

April 9th, 2015 - Do Like DiCaprio and Invest in Belize real estate

According to this recent article ( in the New York Times, super star actor Leonardio Di Caprio is the latest to join the craze and make the decision to Invest in Belize.  He is developing an entire 104-Acre island into an Eco-resort, which is sure to keep Belize fresh on everyone's minds for the next few years to come.

On a different note, The Palms still have about 30% of our lots available for sale, and we still have lots 7 and lots 43 available, which both could be classified as "premium" based on what we have remaining. November 11th, 2014 - First house SOLD, second house well under way

The first house we built on lot 41 has been sold, and we look forward to welcoming our first full-time residents to The Palms of Corozal!

The house under construction on lot number 1 promises to be a beautiful two story home, with an in-ground pool, as well as a wine store on the ground floor, which will serve all the residents of the Palms, as well as locals from Corozal and Consejo.

July 31st, 2014 - Lot #1 cleared and ready for construction!

This week, lot #1 was cleared as one of our investors have decided to take advantage of the opportunity to build a two-story concrete home on there, right across the street from lot #41 where our existing Mennonite home is located.

Construction is set to start over the next few weeks, and we will be very excited to report back on how it is progressing, and we are very confident in what the final product will come out looking like.

June 12th, 2014 - Interior work completed!

If you visit you will be able to see all the work we have completed on the inside of the property - the floors are finished, painting has been done, and the porch has also been completed.

The house if for sale for $75K USD and you will really struggle to find any comparable for this home, and we believe this would be a perfect choice for either an ex-pat looking to more (or move part time) to Belize, or for an investor who is looking to get in early.

May 14th, 2014 - Long overdue update!

The house has been installed, the porch has been added, and all we are doing now is adding some final touches to the inside - finishing the floors, painting the windows, and just doing a few small things. For lots of images, please see as viewing it there will help us keep this site running faster!

April 16th, 2014 - House is arriving on site!

As of today, the property has arrived and is being "installed" by the crew - next week, the porch will be attached to the house and we will be posting some interior photos, as well as manking the property available for sale.

April 7th, 2014 - House is getting ready for installation!

As of today, Monday the 7th April, the workers are adding the final touches to the inside of the property (as you can see below) and the house will be shipped before the end of the week. Once on site, workers will "install" the property, and work to set up the electric, water etc, before the house will be listed for sale in the next few weeks. March 27th, 2014 - Windmill Completion and construction on lot #41 is 90% completed!

After a bit of a delay in getting all the material, we finally managed to get our windmill installed this week!
We believe this is a first in Belize, this will allow us to keep the waters levels high enough in the winter (dry) season, while also allow us to "empty" the pond sufficently in the rainy summer months to ensure we do not have any flooding problems.

Construction on lot #41 is now almost finished and by the end of next week, we should be (more or less) set up, except for some minor details. In less than 10 weeks, we have managed to get the house ready to be listed, which we have to be very satisfied with. March 20th, 2014 - Further update on construction

All is proceeding to plan with the construction of our house - this photo was taken a few days ago and since then, the inside walls have also been completed. We are still on schedule to complete and list the house in early April, and this is a great time of the year to purchase a home in Belize - don't wait too long, as availability is becoming very limited at The Palms!

February 20th, 2014 - Update on constuction on our home on lot #41

We are happy to announce that all is going very well in the construction of the property on lot #41, as you can see in the below images.
If you notice a difference in the background - you are right - we are using one of the local mennonite builders to complete the property off-site, and then move it to The Palms for installation. All things being well (weather mainly...) we will have the property installed by late March/early April, and the property will also be available for purchase.

January 20th, 2014 marks the start of construction for the first house at The Palms!

Today marked the first day of construction at The Palms of Corozal, as crews finished the pad for a beautiful wooden cabin, which will be located on lot #41. The house should be completed by the end of March (weather permitting) and will immediately be made available for sale by the developer.

Increase in both flights and cruise arrivals to Belize!

As a further testament to the popularity of Belize as a tourism hotspot, both American Airlines and Delta Airlines have announced increased frequencies to their schedules for flights to Belize City - and if that wasn't enough proof, there is also an increase in cruise arrivals announced!

Corozal gets first part of a $2.1M facelift!

As part of a Government program to improve important towns in all districts, Corozal has been allocated a $2.1M fund which is currently being used to upgrade the roads, and will also be used to construct a sports center in the southern part of the town. The Guardian reports the event:
